Interested to hear what others say but my first reaction is that even with the story told from your perspective, you seem quite a bit entitled. Might be a good thought exercise to imagine what the driver would be saying about you to his friends?
I got in the car and I was polite to him, asked how his day was going, etc and he pretty much did not respond to me. Towards the end I asked him about the trunk and he had an attitude of “not my problem” so yeah I’m annoyed because I’m paying for a service and at minimum expect politeness. He is not doing me a favor my driving me, he’s getting compensated. Don’t work in a customer service job if you cannot at least be basic level polite to people.
F here, so the driver didn’t open his trunk even though I had suitcases as I was getting into the car which is fine, I don’t ding people for that. But the button on his trunk was a little wonky, So then when I was getting out I asked him politely “can you open the trunk from the inside please so I can grab my suitcase.” And he was like “there’s a button in the back.” So I got out and shut his door, maybe a tad hard because he was just coming off as a rude person and I didn't know what stick went up his ass. He got out and goes “move” opens his trunk and slams my suitcase and throws it on the ground and cursed at me about me slamming his door. I honestly felt like if I had done or said anything else he would have gotten physical with me. So anyways I called Lyft and reported him and told them that I don't want them to divulge details about what happened and they kept saying they can't tell me what they're going to do because it's confidential. But he knows my pickup location and was clearly a little emotionally unstable so I don’t want him to retaliate. I told them to wait 48 hours before taking any action but in talking to my BF he seemed to think it’s good that I reported it but that unless this has happened many times with him, he wouldn’t be fired.
Lyft won’t do anything. I’ve reported drivers before.
I’ve asked an Uber driver to pull over and let me out of the car because he was clearly high and driving erratically. I then went into a restaurant until he left (he was angry and yelling at me) and then reported him to Uber. They immediately called me and let me know he would be fired.
Sorry that happened to you, but props to your bravery. You saved several others that same experience with that driver. Well done!
I did with a Via driver who was cursing and being blatantly misogynistic. Got a refund and a personalized email saying they were launching an investigation.
Same with Uber. I got in a car that smelled like the driver just smoked weed in DC. That plus erratic driving led to my reporting. Refund and “investigation.”
I had no safety concerns at play. So weigh if it’s worth, at worst, a refund, at best, saving someone the same experience.
My driver behaved horribly with me. Infact took a detour and went in circles. (I have a proof in Google Maps.)
I didn't report because I am in long term project.
I took ride from Client office to Hotel and intend to stay for the duration of tbe project in same place.
I usually am never scared to stand up for myself but this one time I was because this guy was crazy.
I am so glad you reported. More power to you OP.
