Recent 2020 graduate looking for guidance. Was admitted to Kellogg and CBS as a deferred applicant and given tight deadlines in the next week. Any alumni/current students interested in providing some perspective (specifically about student culture, strengths of industry networks etc.)? Interested in taking to anyone. :) For context, I am a male STEM major from an Ivy and interested in life sciences/pharma, consulting, and PE/VC. Also if anyone is a JD/MBA would love to speak too!

Isn’t part of the application process doing research on this?

Thanks for being a white knight, OW1. In your fervor for sticking up for the OP, you added as much value as I did.

For what it’s worth - I have no clue what the application process is. I didn’t get an MBA but assumed you have to have an airtight reason for why you like a school in your application. That’s why I asked. I was genuinely curious.

CBS all the way

I tried giving it a shot for the first 2 months but then I am just dragging there after. Anyhow yk how it's in MBA, campus placement leli without a thought plus lack of experience in everything. It's tough out there.
I am desperate to switch to creative/marketing/branding/advertising. If anyone could help/guide/refer me in the right direction that'd be great.

Hello everyone,

I am currently a HR Generalist for a small aerospace company, located in CA. I have been in a generalist role for a little over 4 years now and before that, I did recruiting/safety for about 3 years. I am now looking into getting my HR Certification, but am stuck in between the PHR-CA or the SHRM-CP. Does anyone have any recommendations they can give me?

Would you feel comfortable telling HR that your service line’s culture sucks and name the individuals who cause it? Or is a better approach saying it’s the leadership in general creating a negative and toxic culture? How effective are these conversations really? Trying to assess if there’s any point in bringing this up. Obviously HR works for the company and an employee sharing their thoughts on the unsupportive, cold leaders could bite me in the long run.

How do people save for a down payment on a house? My SO and I make a combined 130k salary, currently rent a 1br apt for $2250/mo, have other debts of 600/mo and 15k in savings. Neither of us have been able to save much since we started to rent the apt (6 months ago). I want to stop "wasting" money on rent and build equity in a home, lay down roots, start a family, but I feel I/we will never be able to save enough for a down payment (NY prices, 400-500k). Starting to feel hopeless &stretched thin
