Aree bhai log tum log ke pass bahut savings h
I am a 30 year female, unmarried.
I started with working in TCS and worked there for 4 years in a peanut salary, then switched during covid.
Although my salary is decent now, but then I took home loan and spent all my 5-6 lakh savings as down payment to buy a small 1 bhk house in teir 3 city for my parents who were living in a rented house for past 15 years as they sold their parents home to afford my education.

And as soon as bought house 1 year back, my father got diagnosed with liver cirrhosis. And only option to save his life is to go for liver transplant which cost 25 lakhs minimum.
I also bought a personal health insurance by paying yearly 1 lakh premium from star health but they declined to cover liver cirrhosis. And all my premium are wasted.

No relatives are helping. and Now i am getting to know that I never had friends also as no one is helping me.

I don’t know what to do.
For past 1 year, already spent 7 lakhs in his frequent hospitalisations and medicines. We had this savings for my wedding.

Even if I sell my house which is on loan, i will get only the downpayment+emi which accounts to rs 10 lakhs only. Still I won’t be able to afford surgery for my father.

Will you guys help me raise funds for my father’s surgery? Even if you give a little amount, it can be life saving for my father

Post surgery also, there are expensive medication worth 50k monthly which I can buy from my monthly salary, its the surgery that I need help for.

Even now without any surgery, his monthly medicines cost 50k.

I have spent all my savings on my wedding and gave remaining money to my parents (not sure what they did with it) after my wife made me realize that I have zero savings. I discussed with parents, they quarrelled with me 😅. Now Jan month was 1st saving. I saved around 40k and didn't take any financial help from my parents to run the house. My parents gets pension so they are saving it. As I have all their expenses covered. 31 M

@C1, it was just a personal preference to invest in pf instead of market linked product. Also, one of the firm had an option to select between the two options for pf calculation

33M, was at 34L including PF, now at 27L(Wedding Expenses) and 13L debt (Car) + 45 L debt (Flat). Between partner and I, our combined income is closer to 60PA. We should be closing down all the loans in next 5 years or earlier. Been working for 10+ years but saving wince 5 years. (Paycheck to paycheck life at low income for first 5 years)

Total spend was approx 15L split between wedding and the down payment for the car. My parents would have spend another 4L. Let me give you the split as well.

7L - DP for car. I had to increase my budget by for a car form 12-14L to 20-22 ( Nexon to Taigun) a decision based on heart and not head. Took a loan for the balance.

7L for the wedding.

3L - We have a custom of gifting clothes to immediate family. This alone is approx 50 ppl. Could have avoided but sometimes you have to yield.
2.6L for gold - the wedding chain and rings. This is less by the societal standards.
60K for the photo / video - we hired one team to cover for both sides. This can grow from 1L to many fold otherwise.
80K - dresses for us. This is not just wedding. Our offices had opened, we had to get few office wears as well.
1L - guests room booking, wedding cards, gift to my brother for running around (feel good factor), misc expenses.

4L - My parents paid for the wedding hall and the feast, shared with my spouse's parents. They had their own expenses such as house renovation, and guests as well.

We don't really go by the notion that the F's family have to bear all expenses of the wedding. So we split everything even when we could. Her family did resist as it's a matter of pride but we had our way.

But if my partner and I were to have our way, we would have had a court marriage, thrown a small party for our close friends and family and finished all of this in 2-3L. We would have a lower car loan and a lower home loan. Thankfully, we are positioned to cover this in next 5 years.

PS: I only spend 6L out of my capital savings, rest 8L were all profits realised over the years from my investments. My captical is still in tact, and I'm replenishing the 6L month on month now. Will take a couple of years.

I started my career in 2010. I always saved and invested money. Like in 2015 i invested 14 lacks in land which I was able to save in 5 years. Then In 2022 i invested 26 lacks in another land. I started investing LIC from 2012 around 80k yearly. I don't drink n smoke and did not spend much on parties.
Most of the expenditure I had was house rent, food and sometimes outings with friends.

Any moms who really badly wanted a girl but ended up with a boy(s)? How do you feel now? Do you still want a girl? Would you try again? Does it matter really, or was it just in your head?

Had a difficult relationship with my mom growing up, so always wanted that closeness with my future daughter. FTM having a boy and a little disappointed, but feeling guilty for that too. Difficult pregnancy so likely won't have another. But I want a girl. 🤷🏻‍♀️

Please no woke left gender drama responses. Thanks.

Curious about thoughts on on discount points (I think I’ve already read every article on Google). I am refinancing my personal residence (future rental) as well as a rental property. The mortgage brokers discourage me from spending a ton on points (rolled in, not up front). In some cases, it’s a 16 year break even. I get that’s a very long time to break even, but I have no intention of getting rid of the properties and doubt rates will drop much below current. Max breakeven point for you?

So my bipolar dad got declined for a mortgage because disability gets shut off in < 3 years when he turns 65. So now he wants me to co-sign for him. Between housing markets being up, my concerns over his money mgmt, and concerns over tying up my credit there’s no way I can say yes. He sold his house before being approved for the new one he put in for (against my advice). I know he won’t understand and will take this personally, and the family will probably take his side. Gonna be a long week…

Hi friends! I’m planning on moving in with my long term boyfriend. He makes about 60-70k and I make 105k. Originally I was going to split rent equally but the feminist in me says it should be split based on income. Have you all been in a similar position and what was your decision?

I’m seeing lots of posts about really bad losses. If you trade you’re going to lose money - hopefully not all the time, but many positions will be mistakes. But you need a process to find ideas and manage positions. Two books you should read are “The New Trading for a Livinng” and “The Laws of Trading.” Both look at psychology, process, and risk in different ways that can help you work out your own process. The next 18 months will be much harder than the last 18 - time to start learning.

Really looking for a way to turn around a toxic building culture with staff to staff bullying, cliques/social isolation, hard feelings on big topics (racism, non acceptance of gender identity). Last year the staff polarized with the lead bully whom I helped leave. And the lead gossip (who was my secretary) that gained their sympathy and turned them against me. She also left. Now I need to regain trust and eliminate unacceptable teacher behaviors. Open to any and all advice.

Fellow fishes, an observation. What explains the sudden rise in salaries in new hires.
In 2017/8, $/₹ was 65. Today it's at 80. That's a 20% depreciation over 2017/8 levels. Now, between then and now, salaries may have been corrected 50%. Factor in inflation, and you will see that the hike is just about 20% over a 4 time period. Doesn't seem like big number anymore.
